Jessica. 22. :D
I did gain weight back. The first time I tried to lose weight, I felt like had “learned” all I needed (after losing my first 11 pounds) so I stopped really trying and I then I gained all the weight back plus more, and that is how I reached my highest weight of 256 pounds.
I think people fail at weightloss because they don’t make it about them. They do want they think works or what they heard a friend do. But it’s not about THEM. You will find it incredibly hard to reach your goals when your following the path to someone else’s goals.
That is not to say that you can’t follow people’s examples as tips. But it needs to be about YOU! If you love meat and you can’t live without it. I don’t think you would succeed at creating a healthy lifestyle change being vegan. But what you can do is learn to eat healthier sources of protein. Switching from red meats to lean meats like chicken and turkey.
If you can’t stand running (or you don’t think you can learn to enjoy it) don’t MAKE yourself run as the only form of exercise. Try some other things until you find something that works for you.
When people start treating weightloss as a chore, it makes it almost impossible to succeed. Make it personalized. Find your favorite healthy foods and get creative with creating alternatives to your old favorite unhealthy foods.
Make your journey about you and understand that it will take time. You’re creating a whole new healthy life, and life changes take time. So be patient.
It’s only failure when you decide that your health is no longer important.
